Place and sequence within the system ….I have discovered again and again how important it is to be willing to take your natural position within a system. Looking at the position taken or not taken explains a lot about the events in our life. I encounter this all the time in my Coaching sessions. It is in almost all my session reports. I experience it as a particularly important element to understand the state of our consciousness. Because of my own experience and my observation of the phenomenon in my coaching sessions, I feel compelled to write this article about it. Because I used to not take my spot within the systems I belonged to, I can now perceive the difference of the tension fields. Because of my own experience in overcoming the imbalances, I now intuitively know where I need to be to restore the balance. Place and sequence within the system influence all other factors. When we allow it, the intelligence of the system itself will ensure the balance through people who are sensitive to harmony and balance. This 'balancing' happens almost entirely at a subconscious level. It is part of the higher good for the system. The rebalancing most often shifts the sequence in the processes within the system. The system will tend to compensate for someone who's not functioning at his or her role or who is absent from a position in the system. This restoration of balance is similar to what happens in nature where it is not uncommon for some organisms to disappear to let other organisms grow instead, or vice versa, that organisms appear that allow other organisms to flourish. Only when entanglements in such underlying (repetitive) patterns become visible can the system be restored to its natural balance. The simplest way to do this is to restore the system to its original blueprint. Another example of this type of imbalances and how the system will try to restore the imbalance is the current situation within the financial sector. To restore the system balance the burden gets shifted to the general public. The clients of the system and the governments representing the population are paying for the damages in order to keep the system in place. Only, we have now arrived at a point where nobody wants to take on more damage. The burdens are so enormous and the system has become so sick (imbalanced) that it only can be restored through a transformation of the system itself from the inside. This requires a total paradigm shift. The old system can no longer be repaired as such. Patterns that are repeated again and again will keep producing similar results. There is predictability in this. I have learned this in my own experience too. I used to give up my spot to others and in so doing I even sometimes made myself superfluous. Or I did work that others left undone and got overburdened with it. I have emotionally suffered from this until I saw what was really happening. As soon as I had this insight I knew how I worked myself into imbalanced positions and how I could turn that around. Now I can laugh about what seemed dramatic before. Situations repeat themselves until the underlying pattern is being recognized. A system can only transform from the inside out when there is insight in existing patterns. Understanding the dynamics allows for rebalancing. When one person in a system shifts, the whole system can go through a shift or sometimes it will be just a subsystem that shifts. Since all is connected to all we cannot change without having an impact on the systems we belong to. Imbalanced patterns stay in place because of trauma and because of limiting beliefs. That is true for individuals, for relationships and for whole systems. We need to heal individual and collective trauma as well as release limiting beliefs, individual ones and collective ones. A systems gets into motion when we change positions. How to do that and in what sequence is what systems work is all about.
